- Simple solution:

- shove a 256k buffer on the back of a STANDARD PC HD FLOPPY drive

- extra cost:

- the cost of the buffer electronics (not much)

- This is what power computing do... (I have one)

- disadvantages:

- Needs a software patch for writing (to flush the buffer).
- Still slow (1/2 speed) HD read/write

- This method works with everything!

- (would fail with hardware bashing writing to 1.44/1.76 floppy ...but how many
- programs do that? )
