  17.  shove a 256k buffer on the back of a STANDARD PC HD FLOPPY drive

  21.          the cost of the buffer electronics (not much)

  27.          Needs a software patch for writing (to flush the buffer).
  28.          Still slow (1/2 speed) HD read/write
